Soft is designed to provide natural, comfortable illumination. The linen shade gently filters the light, while the integrated glare diffuser reduces glare and creates a more even distribution of light with a high level of visual comfort.
The result is a warm, beautifully balanced glow that allows both the interior and the people within it to be seen at their best.
Refined for greater comfort
The updated construction gives Soft a cleaner, more cohesive expression. The transition between the top plate and the edge of the shade has been refined, while the new construction helps reduce visible shadows.
These are changes that may not be immediately apparent, yet make a tangible difference to the overall impression and quality of light.

European-grown linen gives the shade its natural texture and gentle expression. The integrated glare diffuser is made from recycled PMMA and plays an important role in creating Soft’s comfortable quality of light.
Thoughtfully selected materials, local craftsmanship and a timeless design language come together in a collection created with longevity in mind.

Working alongside Joakim Fihn, Belid’s product development team has updated and refined Soft with a focus on light, materials and proportions - while remaining true to the collection’s original expression.

We focused on refining the details, the transitions between materials and the distribution of light. We also introduced table and floor lamps to create a more complete family, applying the same principles as we did to the ceiling lights and pendants.”
