In the coastal heart of Karlskrona, modern architecture meets Scandinavian warmth. Together with the architects at Semrén & Månsson, we at Belid Lighting Group have developed a tailored lighting solution for hotel and interior environments, engineered to meet professional requirements within our Belid Custom Lighting (BCL) concept.

Scandic Karlskrona is a place where sea, city, and people come together. In 2025, we were entrusted with creating a lighting solution that strengthens the overall experience – where light weaves together architecture, materials, and atmosphere into a harmonious whole.
In close dialogue with Semrén & Månsson, we created a coherent design thread across the hotel’s various spaces – from the lobby and restaurant areas to conference-adjacent zones and social environments. Here, the technical function and architectural expression of the lighting work in unison, becoming an integral part of the visual identity.

Tailored solutions for every environment

In this project, form and function are combined through luminaires developed within Belid Custom Lighting (BCL).

Several unique solutions come together:

• Ålahoma, inspired by traditional Blekinge fish traps, brings an organic expression and a warm, inviting light.
• Valencia arch creates rhythm and character across the public spaces.
• Krona in woven macramé adds tactile softness that contrasts with the contemporary interior.
• Track systems and downlights integrate discreetly, providing flexibility for varying lighting scenarios.

Together, these elements shape a lighting environment that guides the visitor through the space and creates balance between function and experience.

Craftsmanship and proximity

All luminaires and custom adaptations are developed and manufactured in our factory in Varberg, Sweden. Here, designers, engineers, and assemblers work side by side to quickly adapt design and technology to the needs of each project.
